Course Features
To apply for 3 year course, applicants will require the following:
- minimum grade C in three A levels or minimum grades BBC in at least two A levels in academic subjects (or a minimum of 112 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification) or EU/Overseas high school diploma
- English Language GCSE at grade C (grade 4) or pass the University tests
- you must be fluent or proficient in both languages
The BA Translation is available in eight language pathways paired with English. We may need to test your language proficiency in your chosen pathway. If this is the case, we will ask you to contact the course leader to arrange to take a test. We may be able to offer you the test via skype. You may also be asked to contact the course leader for an interview. Please email the tutor to arrange this.
English certificates equivalent to GCSE
- IELTS Overall score required 6.0, and minimum 5.5 in each component
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic with minimum 59 in each component
- Cambridge C1 Advanced, formerly Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) – grade C and above
- Cambridge C2 Proficiency, formerly Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) – grade C and above
- LanguageCert International ESOL Exam B2 LRWS with minimum 33 in each component
- TOEFL Overall score required 72, inlcuding Listening: 17, Reading: 18, Writing: 17, Speaking: 20
